Flagship graduate saves skipper of sinking tugboat
SEATTLE: Crew member in hospital after tugboat sinks at pier
State officials said a tugboat sank at its Seattle waterfront pier and a crew member was taken to the hospital Saturday night.

Fast forward to today:  Flagship's very own distinguished graduate, Noreen Smith, wrote ...

"I was the person who rescued my co-worker from his vessel last Saturday in Seattle.  I would like to thank you, Skip, for all the training you have given me in MOB. I have practiced the drill with other co-workers at NRC and am thankful now for these drills and your classroom training."

Girl, 13, fights Dutch government to sail the world
Thirteen-year-old Laura Dekker wants to become the youngest person to sail solo around the world, and her parents think that's a great idea. But the Dutch Council for Child Protection is so concerned about the dangers of the marathon voyage it has asked a court to grant it temporary custody of Laura so it can do what her parents refuse to: Halt the trip. Judges at Utrecht District Court were to announce Friday whether they will scupper Laura's record-breaking plans.
