"I was very impressed with the organization and presentation of the materials, as well as Skip as the instructor. I would highly recommend this course. At the outset of our first 3 hour class, Skip outlined the schedule of the course and the materials. He offered an opportunity for a break halfway through the evening, but indicated that typically his classes in the past have not requested the break and usually just worked straight through. I found this hard to believe, but Skip demonstrated an ability to present the materials as an instructor and coach with a method that created such enthusiasm that no break was requested in any of the classes. Even facing a class with large differences in experience and education, Skip was able to keep the attention of all and instill confidence in everyone to develop their maritime skills successfully. All of the students gained valuable knowledge from the materials as well as the intriguing stories from Skip's lifelong background on the water. Regardless of your experience level, if you have an interest in gaining knowledge regarding navigation, charting, and maritime rules, I would highly suggest that you take this course. Skip will keep you fully engaged and entertained while you gain a vast amount of information that will serve to enhance your degree of professionalism on the water."
